Belangrijke aanbevelingen van deelnemers waren onder meer het versterken van bewustwording en gemeenschapssensibilisatie rond HIVST; het waarborgen van kosteloze of gesubsidieerde toegang; het bieden van duidelijke en toegankelijke instructies; en het diversifi\u00ebren van toegangsmogelijkheden tot HIVST, inclusief uitbreiding van de beschikbaarheid in niet-medische publieke ruimtes buiten apotheken.\n\nHoofdstuk 6 bespreekt en contextualiseert de belangrijkste bevindingen van het proefschrift. At the same time, participants mentioned various challenges and concerns regarding self-testing and linkage to care, including the perceived complexity of HIVST, low self-efficacy, the lack of support during testing and referral, and limited knowledge about HIV and HIV testing (Individual Characteristics). Additionally, barriers to the uptake of HIVST within the Dutch context and prevention landscape were identified, including HIV stigma, limited awareness and visibility (Outer Setting), and the perceived incompatibility of HIVST with existing normative testing processes and infrastructure (Inner Setting). Key recommendations from participants included strengthening awareness and community sensitization around HIVST; ensuring free or subsidized access; providing clear and accessible instructions; and diversifying access options for HIVST, including expanding availability in non-medical public spaces outside pharmacies.\n\nChapter 6 discusses and contextualizes the main findings of the dissertation.
